247, 267 Series Vertical Hold Down Clamps

These Destaco 247 & 267 Series vertical hold down clamps are designed to apply downward clamping force by increasing the applied load via toggle mechanisms. These clamps offer a stationary alternative to removable C clamps or spring clamps when securing material to a work surface. They comprise precisely machined components having hardened & ground pivot pins & bushings and feature steel construction to resist corrosion. These units have a holding capacity of 1200 lb and feature large bar guides for excellent lateral stability. They hold workpieces in place using a lever handle that is pushed to the upright position when the clamp is engaged. Destaco 247 & 267 Series vertical hold down clamps are used in welding, grinding, machining and metal fabrication applications in the aerospace, automotive and food & packaging industries. These clamps have a flanged or straight base with threaded holes for ease-of-installation and come with an ergonomic handle grip to ensure minimum operator fatigue. Selected models are supplied with neoprene spindles to exhibit chemical stability and for maintaining flexibility over a wide temperature range. These Destaco 247 & 267 Series are available in U bar & solid bar clamping arm variants on Raptor Supplies for adjustable spindle location and to offer customised attachments & fixed clamping, respectively.

Compatible Accessories

  • Destaco 247208-M & 267203-M: These flat-tip bonded neoprene (247208-M) and hex head spindles (267203-M) are compatible with Destaco 247 & 267 Series vertical hold down clamps. They can be adjusted for accommodating materials of varying thicknesses and can also be replaced for extending the service life of toggle clamps by reducing the risk of marring when rubber stoppers start to wear away. The flat tip spindles are oil resistant & are LABS free. The hex head spindles are fully threaded units having zinc plating to resist corrosion. These spindles include jam nuts for quick and secure clamping as well as to allow adjustments between clamping distance. They are capable of being operated at temperatures ranging from -22 to 212 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Destaco 247110 & 110122: Destaco bolt retainers are designed for the brand's 247 & 267 Series clamps for ease-of-use as well as to add functionality to the units.
  • Destaco 247109 & 267102: The brand's flanged washers provide easy mounting and secure connection against vibration during the clamping process.

Standards and Approvals

  • Destaco 247 & 267 Series vertical hold down clamps are manufactured in accordance with industry standards like ISO 9001:2015 & ISO 14001:2015 for utmost user safety, environmental health and superior performance of the clamps.

Installation

  • These vertical hold down clamps are equipped with a flanged or straight base having threaded holes for quick & secure surface & blade installation, respectively.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does a vertical hold down toggle clamp work?

The toggle clamp actuates against the workpiece and compresses or stretches the equipped linkages to keep the workpiece in a stationary position.

Which grease is ideal for Destaco clamps for their rebuilding?

A coupling grease like Mobil XTC should be used when dealing with Destaco mechanical clamps, while the Magnalube G grease is great for use with pneumatic cylinder seals.

What does holding capacity mean in terms of clamps?

The holding capacity or the holding force depicts the clamp's capability to hold down equipment or sheet metal on assembly lines or during similar manufacturing processes.

What is the significance of the red colour of the handle of Destaco clamps?

There is no such significance of colour of the clamp's handle, as it only represents a recognisable area. This helps operators in finding the handle quickly & easily.

What does clamping force mean?

Clamping force is the amount of force actually applied to a workpiece by closing & locking the clamp. It is normally less than the stated holding capacity. The actual clamping force depends on various factors, including cylinder bore, cylinder area, spindle position (clamping arm length) and available air pressure. In most cases, the clamping force is approximately 2 to 3 times the force exerted by a pneumatic cylinder.
